They are BOC-certified, ABC-certified and state-licensed. They hold bachelor's degrees and master's degrees. They are fitters, practitioners, business owners, researchers, manufacturers and daily students of an ever-changing and challenging profession.
They marvel at how quickly the field has progressed in just a few decades and how significantly O&P awareness has grown.
And, although they know the various problems in the businessranging from reimbursement, accreditation, direct access and qualified provider language issuesthey are eager to face the demands of each new day.
