Thursday, September 9 from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m.
The following Tier A Workshops run concurrently within this track.
Lower Extremity Product Selection Guidelines for Children with Neuromuscular Disorders
Allard USA
This workshop will investigate lower extremity orthotic management for children with neuromuscular involvement. The course will help to develop clinic protocols for product selection based on clinical evidence and a review of the current literature.
Patient Evaluation Using the Becker GEO Method
Becker Orthopedic Appliance Co.
The Becker GEO, Gait Evaluation Orthosis is an advanced evaluation tool for AFO design. Becker GEO is powered by the Triple Action ankle joint, a high stiffness ankle component with metered settings that facilitate independent shank alignment and tuning of stance phase gait kinematics. This program provides a functional overview of the Becker GEO and its clinical application, with illustration of the Systematic Tuning Procedure for Triple Action and case study illustrations. Participants will learn how the GEO method of orthotic design can help improve clinical outcomes and facilitate collaboration with other allied health care professionals.
Achieving Successful Outcomes with Naked Prosthetics’ Body-Driven Devices
Naked Prosthetics
The partial-hand amputee population has historically been underserved in the prosthetic world, both due to a limitation in technology available and opportunities for care. In this course we will provide everything a prosthetist needs in order to feel confident in working with patients with an amputation at the digit level. You will learn about the product anatomy, function, and the impacts of our engineering on the end-user for each of our three body-driven products. We will prepare you for how to identify optimal candidates for each of these devices and how to work with our Customer Care and Clinical Teams to deliver strong patient outcomes even with challenging presentations. We’ll conclude with hands-on workstations walking you through our straightforward ordering process, education on how to perform an initial delivery, and what resources are available for helping secure insurance reimbursement for your patients. A shift is happening in the paradigm of rehabilitation for partial hand amputees. We hope you’ll join us to be a part of this movement!
Help! Which Custom AFO Will Be The Better Option?
Orthotic Holdings OHI

Augmented Stability Integrating Kenevo MPK, Kintrol Hydraulic Foot, and Varos Socket Technology by Ottobock
Ottobock
Studies show that lower mobility users show remarkable benefits and outcomes, if they are fit with a prosthesis immediately following amputation. The innovative Varos socket from Ottobock helps clinicians fit patients quickly and avoid the more time-consuming processes of traditional impression-taking and fabrication methods. In combination with the Kenevo microprocessor knee and Kintrol hydraulic foot, clinicians can offer a wider array of options for greater stability, enhanced mobility, adjustability and comfort in the fitting process. Discussion will focus on patient selection, fabrication processes, and clinical techniques to optimize patient experience, and function as well as a variety of other clinical tools from Ottobock.
Rodin 4D- Your CAD/CAM Solution
Rodin 4D
Join us for this 2 part workshop where we will introduce Arkad- a new CAD/CAM approach for designing and printing 3D insoles. Followed by a full overview of all Rodin 4D’s CAD/CAM solutions process…..from scan to final device.
Advanced Methodologies of Full‐Time Scoliosis
Spinal Technology
This course provides an in‐depth review of the clinical treatment of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, and presents recent advancements in the design and methodology of fulltime orthoses. Education will be provided on the effective approaches to 3D scanning, brace design, blueprinting, fabrication, evaluation and fitting and adjustments. Proper measuring techniques to ensure better bracing and patient outcomes will be discussed accompanied by x‐ray review and patient evaluation.
