Alexandria, VA (August 12, 2026) — The American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA) is proud to announce that Jeffrey M. Brandt, CPO, has been selected as the 2026 recipient of the James H. Campbell Commitment to Outcomes Award.
Established in 2025 and funded by Hanger, Inc., the award honors the legacy of Dr. James H. Campbell by recognizing individuals who have advanced evidence-based practice, implemented clinical outcomes programs, contributed to peer-reviewed research, and driven innovation in outcomes-based product development, all in pursuit of better orthotic and prosthetic (O&P) patient care.
Throughout his career, Brandt has been a visionary leader in demonstrating the value of outcomes measurement for both clinical excellence and business success. Before outcomes measurement became common in O&P, he championed their implementation as a standard of care across the practices he led. This commitment enabled the publication of multiple peer-reviewed manuscripts demonstrating the value of O&P care while helping establish a model for integrating patient outcomes, business analytics, and evidence generation into everyday clinical practice.
“Jeff recognized early on that measuring outcomes was not simply about collecting data, but rather it was about improving patient care and demonstrating the value of the services our profession provides,” said Kimberly Hanson AOPA President. “His leadership helped show the profession that outcomes measurement could be successfully integrated into clinical practice while generating the evidence needed to advance patient care, influence policy, and strengthen the future of O&P.”
Brandt founded Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, an award-winning, evidence-supported practice that grew to fifteen locations across three states. Beginning in 2004, it became one of the first O&P organizations to embed standardized outcomes measurement into routine clinical care. Under Brandt’s leadership, the practice became recognized for its focus on patient-centered care, comparative effectiveness research, business analytics, adaptive community programming, and product innovation. Following Ability’s acquisition by Ottobock in 2020, Brandt served as Vice President of Clinical Operations and Director of Business Development for ottobock.care, where he continued advancing evidence-based care across a national network of clinics.
Beyond clinical practice, Brandt has made significant contributions to research, innovation, and professional leadership. He is a co-founder of Kinetic Revolutions, where he helped develop the industry’s first height-adjustable prosthetic pylon, and founded Lifenhanced magazine to help elevate conversations around mobility and quality of life. More recently, he has continued advancing the profession through his work with the Limb Loss and Preservation Registry’s External Collaborative Panel, contributing to national efforts to establish a quality registry for improving patient care and publishing on the critical role data will play in the future of O&P reimbursement and policy.
Brandt has served as Treasurer and Board Member of AOPA, advised multiple O&P educational programs, and currently serves on the boards of the Live in Motion Foundation and Hanger Clinics Products & Services Advisory Board. His honors include the AAOP Distinguished Practitioner Award, the ROMP Empowerment Through Mobility Award, and recognition among the O&P News 175.
