Blair Lock

Blair Lock is a technologist, an established leader, and a well-known pioneer in the field of advanced upper limb prosthetic control. He was the co-founder and CEO of Coapt – the world’s leader of myoelectric pattern recognition systems for upper limb prosthetics – until the acquisition of Coapt in March of 2025. At Hanger, Blair serves as the VP and GM of Coapt.

Earlier in his carreer, Mr. Lock was a founding member of the prestigious Center for Bionic Medicine research group at the Shirley Ryan AbiliyLab (formerly the Rehabilitation Insititue of Chicago) where his academic and operational leadership helped develop and deploy the groundbreaking Targeted Muscle Reinnervation surgical technique.

Blair has been dedicated to advancements in the field of upper limb prosthetics and myoelectric control since 2003 and holds graduate degrees in engineering, entrepreneurship, and management. He hails from eastern Canada but has called Chicago home for over 20 years.
