Bio:
Rick Riley has devoted his entire 41-year career to the healthcare sector, including 30 years on the supplier side of O&P. He was a senior executive at brace manufacturer Townsend Design for 25 years, including 17 years as the company’s CEO. He orchestrated the acquisition of Townsend by Thuasne in 2011 without one employee losing their job and received Thuasne USA’s inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award when he retired from the company in 2019. Rick founded O&P Boost in 2020 and currently provides management, marketing, and sales consulting services to O&P suppliers.
Rick has served for nine years on AOPA’s Board of Directors, including four years on the Executive Committee. He is a vocal advocate for women in the O&P profession and actively supported efforts to diversify AOPA’s board. A long-time participant in AOPA’s Policy Forum, he was a recipient of AOPA’s Legislative Advocacy Award in 2015. He also led O&P advocacy efforts in his home state during his tenure on the board of the California Orthotic and Prosthetic Association. Rick is well known in the O&P profession for his expertise and advocacy for lower extremity bracing. He has been a speaker/presenter at national, regional, and state O&P conferences.
Prior to working in O&P, Rick served in management positions at several hospitals with responsibilities for marketing, communications, physician relations and fundraising. He is a former chairman of the Board of Directors for the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce (1,700+ member businesses) and has served on the board of four non-profit healthcare organizations.
