Bio:

Sheryl Sachs, MSPO, CPO, has worked at Dankmeyer for over 14 years, including a short break during a move out of state. She completed her undergraduate work at University of Maryland, College Park, and graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with her Master of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics. Sheryl completed both her prosthetics & orthotics residencies at Dankmeyer, Inc. She was the lead practitioner and ran the North Baltimore office located on the main campus of Sinai Hospital for over 7 years, and recently transitioned to a non-clinical role at the company. Sheryl is an active member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP). She currently serves as Chair of the Executive Committee on the board for the National Commission for Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE) and is a former residency liaison for NCOPE. She is also active with the American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association (AOPA), serving on the Government Relations Committee, and as a state representative. She currently is leading Maryland’s “So EveryBODY Can Move” initiative, working with legislators to introduce legislation to expand access to activity-specific prosthetic and orthotic devices. Under Sheryl’s leadership, Maryland became the sixth state to pass legislation as part of this initiative, and she is actively working to expand coverage in the state during the current legislative session. She is the 2024 OPGA O&P Woman of the Year, and a recipient of AOPA’s 2024 Legislative Advocacy Award.
