AOPA is proud to partner with Hanger, Inc. to establish the Dr. James H. Campbell Commitment to Outcomes Award, celebrating individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to improving clinical outcomes in orthotics and prosthetics (O&P).
Funded by Hanger, Inc. in honor of Dr. James H. Campbell, this prestigious award recognizes those who have advanced evidence-based practice, implemented clinical outcomes programs, contributed to peer-reviewed research, and driven innovation in outcomes-based product development—all in pursuit of better patient care.
Award Criteria:
The recipient must be an individual who has made significant and outstanding contributions to the field of prosthetics and orthotics through exceptional dedication to achieving the best clinical outcomes for patients. This may be demonstrated through:
- A commitment to advancing evidence-based practice in orthotics and prosthetics.
- Implementation of clinical outcomes program as a standard of care.
- Dissemination of clinical outcomes-based manuscripts in peer reviewed literature.
- The adoption of outcomes-based component product development to improve quality of life for orthotic or prosthetic patients
- The successful implementation of unique processes for capturing validated clinical outcomes in a clinical setting.
Note: No individual may receive this award more than once.
Award Presentation & Benefits:
The award will be presented annually at the AOPA National Assembly during the Annual Business Meeting and Awards Ceremony.
The recipient will receive:
- A $3,000 honorarium
- Two nights at the National Assembly headquarters hotel
- Complimentary registration to the National Assembly
- Coach airfare to the event
- Recognition in the O&P Almanac, AOPA social media, and a national press release
AOPA will solicit nominations each year, with final selection made by the AOPA Board of Directors.
This award is a testament to Dr. Campbell’s lasting impact on the O&P profession and a celebration of those who continue his legacy of excellence.
