Important Announcement about AOPA Leadership

It is with mixed emotions that the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA) Board of Directors announce the departure of Eve Lee, MBA, CAE, who will be stepping down from her role as Executive Director, effective January 22, 2025.

Over the past six years Eve has been an integral part of our organization, leading with vision, passion, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to advancing AOPA and the O&P profession. We are grateful for Eve’s dedicated service, her contributions to fulfilling AOPA’s mission, and the increased value she has created for our members all of which will have a lasting impact on AOPA and O&P’s future.

Under Eve’s leadership, AOPA has achieved significant milestones, including:

  • Continuously maintaining a positive forward-thinking outlook and demonstrating effective leadership while navigating the COVID pandemic-related challenges experienced by our association and members. This past September AOPA’s National Assembly achieved pre-pandemic levels of attendance and member engagement. The ability to bounce back this quickly is due in part to Eve’s leadership.
  • The development and execution of an innovative five-year strategic plan that is leading AOPA and the O&P profession into conversations about the broader healthcare landscape. Eve embraced the importance of pursuing value-driven and data-based care, and AOPA members are beginning to see the positive impacts of this investment.
  • Increasing collaboration and strengthening AOPA’s relationships with the O&P community, policy makers and allied health professionals. These collaborations will continue to benefit AOPA members, the O&P profession, and the individuals we serve.

Eve has accepted a new employment opportunity to serve as Chief Executive Officer of the Society of Interventional Radiology. Advancing her career at an organization with a larger budget and staff, which has a mission focused on improving healthcare and patient outcomes, will allow Eve to scale her leadership capabilities. The AOPA Board of Directors wholeheartedly supports Eve’s decision and is well-prepared, with support from AOPA staff, to effectively manage a transition in leadership. The Board’s Executive Committee is working with Eve to develop a transition plan that, following approval of the full Board of Directors, will be communicated to members prior to the end of the year.

Please join the AOPA Board of Directors and AOPA staff in expressing our heartfelt gratitude to Eve for her leadership these past six years and wishing her success in her next chapter.

If you have any questions, please contact Joy Klapp AOPA’s Director of Communications and Membership at jklapp@AOPAnet.org. If you wish to send a personal note to Eve, she can be reached at elee@AOPAnet.org.

Thank you for your continued support of AOPA during this transition.
